Curiosity.
Engineering.
A creative mind.

I'm Rusiru Wickramaarachchi, an Industrial Engineering student based in Germany. I explore the connections between physical engineering, software and creative work.

Where materials meet software.

I study Industrial Engineering at Deggendorf Institute of Technology, European Campus Rottal-Inn. My interests span manufacturing, materials, simulation and engineering digitalisation.

Material database

Bachelor thesis · In progress

At Magnetfabrik Bonn, I am developing a material database for permanent magnet production. The project connects material characterisation with structured data management and a Python desktop application, helping make material information easier to access and use.

Manufacturing experience

Internship · Magnetfabrik Bonn

My internship covered toolmaking, production, research and development, and quality testing. Tasks included an Excel decision-support tool for injection moulding, material flow testing, mechanical testing and a plate-bending simulation in FreeCAD.

Technical direction

Areas I want to explore

I am particularly interested in simulation and electromagnetism: understanding physical behaviour and using computational tools to investigate engineering problems. Magnetic applications and audio technology bring several of my interests together.

A different way to create.

Rusiru Anuththara

Alongside engineering, I produce music and play guitar under the name Rusiru Anuththara. Music has been part of my life for around a decade, combining creative expression with an interest in how sound works.

Signal processing and audio technology connect this creative practice with my technical interests. I also enjoy visual design, working with Photoshop and Illustrator.

From Sri Lanka to Germany.

I grew up in Sri Lanka and moved to Germany to pursue my studies. Living between cultures has added another perspective to how I learn, work and create.

Outside engineering and music, I enjoy cricket and running. I play as a wicket-keeper, and I am continuing to develop my German alongside my studies and projects.
